I read 37 books in 82 days. This one made me write more notes than any other book that I read in that time. One decision, one moment. That's all it takes to awaken the giant within. And that's Tony Robbins landmark book and message. If you want to study spirituality, self-help, religion, you really can't do that if you don't take a minute and look at what Tony Robbins has done. He's known as a motivational speaker, but really, that undersells him. He's this powerful synthesizer that takes spirituality, psychology, and all this ancient stuff, and he's able to condense it down into its lowest common denominator and make it usable by you. He's helped people and he's probably made a lot of money doing it. if someone's out there making money, but they're helping people, that's not the worst thing in the world. I don't really know what I expected when I read this book, because I didn't know what he was all about. I mean, I knew who he was, but I didn't know what his methodologies were and the things that he used to get us to the place that he's talking about. after about 500 pages now, I know, I also have a real life success story from this. My mother in law went to go see Tony Robbins years ago, and I got to tell you about that later in this video. The message is ancient, but his delivery is modern. He has this insight into the human condition, and that's not really something you can teach. Some people have this innate ability to go look at what kind of makes humans tick, what makes us work. And that's pretty rare. he fundamental to understands what we're all about. And he knows that he can talk to you. And for most people, he can figure out how to get you to turn your life around and point you in this better direction. And it's it's not that his teachings are, again, they're not new. If you look at Buddhism, Hinduism, even Christianity, you can see the core of these things in those spiritual paths. And what he's teaching here, we're talking about awareness, presence, intention, transformation. But unlike these abstract teachings that we see, he makes it actionable, relatable. And he's someone that has this insane ability to connect with people, large groups of people, but also individuals as individuals. he makes people feel seen. He makes people feel heard. And when you're seen, when you're heard, suddenly you're invested in the idea that you can change your life. And that's kind of what life is all about. How do we connect with each other? How do we connect with ourself? And that's where all this begins. And that's how we move further down our spiritual path. I'm going to hit you up with some quotes along the way. He said, you want to learn from your past, not live in it. So how do we take all these lessons that have come up from our past and have it inform in the way we're living now, versus just going back and reliving those experiences from the past, worrying about them, getting upset about them making having to make us sad, you know, wanting to go, fix them. We can't go back and fix what's already happened. We're never going to go back and be able to undo it. And so we can't get stuck back in the past because it's going to completely inform how you're living your life right now. Today. Tony Robbins is a guy who studied a lot, and then he went out and studied some more. He spent a lot of time perfecting his craft of helping people, learning how to speak to people. He would go out anywhere he could and speak in front of people. Anybody that would hear him speak, he would go out and do it just to practice over and over and over again how to best articulate his message and get it to resonate with people like you. He would read tons of books. I mean books across all types of different religions, spiritual construct, self-help. And he would attend worship services over a two year period. I think he probably attended pretty much every church in Los Angeles from different religions, just to see what everything was about out there in the world. And then he went through some rough patches. He was a janitor at one point at this LA high rise, and then something like 12 years later, he would end up flying over that same high rise in his own private helicopter. So life is so strange with how things play out. The universe would love if you would give us a sub by hitting the water mark in the lower right hand corner. My whole life, I've seen people laugh at people who have bought self-help books and use them and kind of buy into the genre, and it's always struck me as odd, because why are we resenting people or making fun of them for trying to better themselves? There's no real difference between spirituality, religion and self-help. Trying to better yourself. It's not shameful. It's this sacred thing. Self-Help mostly deals with exploring who we are, the self, that self with a capital S. So how do we quiet the mind and how do we control how we react to our surroundings? That's completely spiritual. That's what self-help is all about. There's all these tools out there and so whatever works best for you, that's great. It doesn't really matter if it doesn't work well for other people out there. We need to find the tool that works best for us as we're moving down the spiritual path. That's what this is all about. That's what exploration and curiosity and asking questions and having conversations is all about. Small shifts equal big change. Have you ever considered the massive power of incremental change? Take a minute to think about the power of tiny, continual improvement. Think about if you just went out and you made your life a quarter of 1% better each day, so one quarter of a percent, What would your life look like at the end of that year? You'd be someone almost completely unrecognizable to yourself, but in the best way. Real change is compound interest on your thoughts and your habits. These things that you do every single day. We're usually the biggest obstacle in our own path. We have the power to just step aside and get out of our own way. It's this amazing, beautiful thing and think about Tony Robbins telling you this if you don't have a plan for your life, someone else does. consider that a different way. Your boss has a plan for you. your parents have a plan for you. Your spouse has a plan for you. Your children have a plan for you. But do you have a plan for yourself? Because if you don't, someone else will live your life for you or tell you how to live your life, or just make sure you're living your life the way that they want. And this is something that I want to tell you. Go write your own story. We have this whole video about making yourself your own main character in your own life. You have the power to write anything that you want, be creative and go out and live the life that you want to live. Robbins stresses the importance of the present moment and the ability to shape your own experience and he often questions how you assign meaning to something. Because if you assign something meaning, that's everything. you could stop for a moment right now, like just stop and think about what you're assigning meaning to in your life. Literally make a list of this. Write it on your phone, write it on a physical notebook. Just just do it. Just write it down and then go over the list. Are the things that you're assigning meaning to are they positive or are they negative or they just neutral? Are you assigning meaning to stuff that you want in your life, that you need in your life, or you assigning meaning to these things that are weighing you down that don't really do anything for you? And if you aren't present, then what you're assigning meaning to doesn't matter as much. If you're living your life in the past or you're thinking about the future all the time, you're not living today right here in the present moment right now, and you're going to stall out. So build your own life with intention and awareness. If you're intentional and aware about the things that you're doing every day in your life, it's going to be so much better. Robbins has a mantra that says decide and then act. He says, it's in your moment of decision that your destiny is shaped. So what decisions are you making? Are you even conscious of the decision that you're making, deciding what that awareness is just going to slam you into the ground over and over and over again, and you're not going to get anywhere. So you have to think about it in terms of something that he calls neuro associative conditioning. He calls it NAC. Decide what you really want, the result you're looking for. So an example might be I want to earn more money so that I have more financial freedom. That's a pretty logical goal that someone might have. Okay. It's not just I want to make more money, I want to make more money so that I have more freedom in my life. So that's the first step. What do you want to get to? And then link that pain and pleasure. So what will you feel if you do or don't do this thing? What pain will you link to this if you don't achieve it? and what pleasure will you get from achieving this? This programs your mind and your ego to want to achieve this thing, to get where you want to go. And it leads to this huge increase in odds of success in what you're doing. You're disrupting an old pattern, and that's the next step. Disrupt the old pattern. If you catch yourself in this bad habit or this bad routine that you're trying to get rid of, do something that shocks you out of that pattern that shocks your system. Say out loud, I'm not going to do this anymore. this is bad. Literally say it out loud to yourself and break the pattern, and then you have to install a new behavior. So if you're getting rid of a negative or a neutral pattern or habit, replace it with something positive it. If you do this, there is so much evidence out there that you're going to be much more successful at achieving this goal that you're working towards. And then once you insert this new thing that you want, this new positive routine or habit, then reinforce it, keep doing it and feel good doing it. If it doesn't feel good doing it, you're not going to keep doing it. Because our mind, our ego, we're just going to say, you know what? I don't want any part of this anymore. Let's go back to this comfortable thing that I've been doing for for ten years. For five years, for 20 years, however long it's been that you've had this negative habit. And then you master the five pillars. Tony Robbins talks about these five areas of life mastery. The first one is emotional. And this is this, like completely foundational thing. If you can't control your emotions, they're going to absolutely have domain over you. They're going to completely control your life. There's entire books that have been written in whole systems of study that have been written about this one thing about how we don't let our emotions control us. if you can do that, you're achieving getting out of prison, basically, because now your life is going to be so much more free. And ask yourself, do you know how to process anger, anxiety, sadness, fear without being consumed by them? So can can you feel this emotion say, okay, it's okay, I'm having this emotion. Emotions are perfectly fine to have I receiving this emotion, what am I doing with it? Like where is it going? Okay, I've I'm receiving this emotion. I'm going to process it okay. Thank you. And now I'm going to move on without letting that emotion completely derail you and take you off in a direction that you don't want to go in, or that you don't even know you're going. if you're not able to do that, I would definitely recommend dedicating some time just to this. We have whole videos on this channel about mastering our emotions, living in the present moment, being more calm. if you need work on that, let's talk about it. Hit me up in the comments and we'll have a conversation. the next step is the physical pillar. You have to treat your body as this temple, love yourself fully and show yourself this love. Your physical state is going to impact your energy, your sleep, your breathing, your movements are all things that are critical to walking down your spiritual path and keep yourself from falling off of it, and that leads into relationships. Tony Robbins says that the quality of your life depends on the quality of your relationships, so this isn't just romantic partners. We're talking about your family, your friends, your coworkers. These are all relationships that are totally critical to how you're going to be living your life every single day. And much of this, ties in to that, that same foundation of how you're handling your emotions. Your emotions are going to deeply impact how you interact with all of these different relationships in your life, every single day and every single week. The next one is financial, and this pillar is important because, money doesn't buy happiness. We know that. But financial security often for people does equal peace of mind. And so financial security isn't something that's just going to magically happen for you. It's not the self solving problem. You have to have attention that you're directing towards your financial issues and put effort in. And if you give it that, it's going to increase the freedom that you have in your life. You're going to stop worrying about money as much because you're intentionally going after these core things that that might cause you problems. Okay, I can't pay bills or I'm worried about making this car payment or whatever it is. So if you intentionally direct your awareness towards this, you're going to really increase the quality and your peace of mind. The next thing is time. Don't let time own you because you need to own the moment before the moment owns you. Time is not a commodity that we can never get back. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. So focus on what matters most. It's not necessarily what's urgent, it's what really matters to you. And again, go back to thinking what does matter to me? you can also eliminate distractions that drain your life force. This one moment right now, that's all you're ever going to have. Consider your identity, your beliefs, your inner self. Who are you and what do you believe? Robbins says that most people are never conscious of who they decide they are. Identity is not this static thing you can break free from these labels, these limiting beliefs that you have for yourself. what's your higher purpose in life? Your dharma is probably unique to each of us. Something that you're meant for in this world. So get to know yourself and understand what your passion is. Then ask yourself, what am I going to do to meet my passion every single day? what are you going to do to live your purpose? And you absolutely won't regret doing this? This is a true path to freedom. Consider the power of what Tony Robbins discusses as transformation of vocabulary. Change your words. Change your life. There was an Army captain I worked with when I was in Kandahar. He was a liaison officer that was assigned from an Army unit and he basically lived with us. He was always in my office, and he used to tell me, you know, John, words mean things. He would say it all the time. Words mean things. And it's true. Words are these things that can change our life. So think about the words that you're using for yourself, that you're assigning to yourself, and think about the words you're using with others because it's power. It's power for yourself. And it also really impacts how people are going to interact with you and how you're going to be interacting with people. Try to use your emotions as feedback, not as this dictator, for how you're going to respond to things. When an emotion arrives, think, what else could this mean? Maybe the emotion isn't what you think it is. Maybe it's just a signal trying to help you out. He talks about the Niagara syndrome and basically imagine that you're floating along unconsciously, and then suddenly you realize I'm five feet away from this waterfall, and now you're freaking out. You got to ask yourself, how did I get five feet from this waterfall? Without knowing? Because sometimes we just float around in life downstream and we're not conscious of what we're doing. So think about how you got there, what puts you on this path? He says the goals aren't the end. It's just the engine of evolution for us. So ask yourself what kind of person do you want to become and what do you want to achieve? My mother in law went to this Tony Robbins workshop decades ago, and he asked her to write down this concrete goal, something super concrete that she absolutely wanted to achieve. she was a teacher, and she said that she wanted to make this very specific amount of money each year. And she actually wrote that down and said, this is the amount of money I want to make. And at the time, this was way more money than she ever thought that she would ever make. And she went she followed his methodology. And not only did my mother in law end up making that amount of money, she was responsible for leading the collective bargaining for the teachers in that school district, and she ended up making sure that every single other teacher that she worked with also made the same amount of money, and her goal was realized. She was someone who willed into existence. Out this goal. She achieved it using Tony Robbins method. it's proof that if you believe in yourself and you take aligned action, you will change your life Robbins doesn't offer some novelty. He offers this activation in your life. This isn't about being rich. It's about being awake. And if you could just reflect on what all this means to you, ask yourself, are you in charge of your own life? Are you writing your own main story? Tell me in the comments. what you're thinking about, where are you today? Tell me what you think about how Tony Robbins methodology can help you out. What would you do with it? Where would you go if you could do anything in your life right now? What would you do? Write that down and tell me how you think you'd get there. Using this methodology. And the conversation doesn't have to end here. We're part of a great community at Kishar.org. Check us out. Please take a minute to like this video and we'll keep making content just like this.
